About Crystalite Disability Care

At 26 years old Zobaida welcomed her son into this world without her then husband. During his first year, he learnt to walk and started talking and would sing along if he heard music. However, he started to have sleeping issues. She noticed he would react to the light strangely. When he looked at the light, he would look at it from different angles. Being concerned and being alone without any support from her husband she took him to her family doctor.

After being referred to a specialist, her son was officially diagnosed with Autism.  At the age of twenty months he developed an ongoing fever and became non-verbal, he never spoke or sang again. He is now 19 years old.

With limited access to disability services in Bangladesh, Zobaida knew that she needed to seek better opportunities for her son. She set her sights on Australia, a country known for its inclusive education system and support for individuals with disabilities.

Driven by her love for her son and the desire to provide him with a better future, Zobaida worked tirelessly to support him as a single parent. She took on the role of both caregiver and breadwinner, shouldering the responsibilities that came with raising a family alone.

Her son has been her Crystal Light that shines and brightens her life and others around him. He has always been her beacon of hope.

Crystalite Disability Care Services is founded in his honour and an opportunity to apply our knowledge in working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. With her personal experience, she saw a special need and opportunities to provide a support service to provide the right environment for children and adults on the spectrum to live up to their full potential and support the families with the similar experience.
